20th Anniversary of Invasion of Congo All-Day Forum

Friends of the Congo, the African Great Lakes Action Network, and other members of the African Great Lakes Coalition are hosting an all-day forum on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 8am - 6pm EST, to commemorate the victims of the conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Break the Silence Congo Week IX

Breaking the Silence: Congo Week is a week of activities that commemorates the lives lost in the Congo conflict yet celebrates the potential that exists in Congolese people, especially the youth. People throughout the globe join in solidarity with Congolese each year on the third week of October to screen films, hold teach-ins and forums, organize rallies, host fundraisers, put on concerts and undertake many other activities to elevate the profile of the Congo on a worldwide scale. Congo Week was initiated by students and community activists in 2008 and will celebrate its eighth anniversary in 2015. 

PARTICIPATE in Congo Week IX and be a part of the global movement to bring about peace, stability, justice and human dignity in the Congo.
